Nancy K. Stone, Partner

Ms. Nancy K. Stone specializes in the areas of matrimonial and family law. She handles divorce, custody and family law proceedings involving a wide variety of issues for men and women throughout Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties. She has more than 20 years experience representing clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, visitation, asset division, and post-judgment issues as well as complex commercial litigation. She is a well-established negotiator, trial attorney and mediator with a vast understanding of complex property estates and contested business entity valuations. Her winning combination of business acumen, vast experience, and compassion makes her uniquely qualified to handle all aspects of family law.

Prior to forming Rotter & Stone, P.C., Ms. Stone was a partner at Howard & Howard Attorneys, PLLC, a business law firm of more than 130 attorneys serving clients in Michigan, Illinois and Nevada. While with Howard & Howard, Ms. Stone handled many high profile business law cases. For example, she obtained a nearly $30 million recovery for an NFL stadium in a highly publicized dispute with an NFL franchise that threatened to abandon its lease and move to a new stadium. The case involved complicated and antiquated contracts, compounded by complex damage and mitigation issues due to the unique use and development potential of the stadium property. More recently, she was lead counsel in a complex adversary fraudulent transfer proceeding involving a Detroit casino in which she was instrumental in obtaining a successful reversal of a lower court ruling in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and a dismissal of the entire matter for her clients on summary judgment.
